Even before stay-at-home orders because of Coronavirus went into effect, at-home fitness has been trending for 2020, showing an increase in home workouts. Home visits from personal trainers and streaming workouts have been making waves in the home workout space.
Jen Tallman, group fitness instructor and online coach in New York City stated in a Prevention article on Fitness Trends in 2020 that, “Working out at home or while traveling is only going to continue to grow as more people work from home and remotely and want options on top of in-person fitness.”
And that was written back in November of 2019 before we even knew COVID-19 would be forcing us to spend weeks to months locked out of our gyms and losing access to our running groups. Luckily for all of us, this need for streaming services had already begun to trend. It meant that fitness gurus and businesses were already in the process of creating and launching products that we could use from the comfort of our own home. Even one of our On Trend customers was doing in home workouts from March last year in her apartment until her neighbours downstairs complained about the thumping :-)
While not the same as going to gym I use dumbells and power bands and try to replicate as best I can as what I was doing at the gym. In saying that I am playing it extra careful after watching this video on facebook Quarantine workout - Safe at Home!
The best free streaming workout site I have seen that has everything is Good House Keeping. They seem to have everything.
Whatever you're doing or however you are working out make sure you're not doing what is happening in the facebook video link, make sure you're eating correctly and wear your compression socks, compression runners or calf compression sleeves!
Stay safe everyone!
